WPC, or wood plastic composite, blends wood flour with a thermoplastic polymer and a package of stabilisers and additives. The result behaves like a board you can work with woodworking tools, while carrying the moisture resistance of a plastic.
Where WPC earns its place:
– Waterproof through the section, not just at the surface, so it will not swell or delaminate the way plywood and MDF do when water gets in
– Immune to termites and borers, which matters for anything fixed near ground level or into masonry
– Holds screws and nails, routes cleanly and takes CNC profiling, so it drops straight into existing fabrication workflows

Trade sheets are usually 2440 x 1220mm, the standard 8ft x 4ft, in thicknesses from around 5mm to 18mm. Board density typically runs 500 to 800 kg per cubic metre: lighter grades suit panelling and ceilings, while denser grades are the ones to specify for cabinet carcasses and anything carrying load.
Typical applications are signage substrates and backing boards, wall panelling and partitions, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, door and window frames, shopfitting and outdoor decking.
