Lightweight rigid sheet of expanded closed cell PVC. Waterproof, termite proof and print ready, it cuts and routes like timber but never swells or rots. The default substrate for printed signage, displays and interior partitions.
PVC foam board is the workhorse substrate of the signage trade. Made from expanded closed cell polyvinyl chloride, it gives you a rigid, dimensionally stable sheet that weighs a fraction of plywood or MDF and does not care about moisture.

Typical trade sizes run 2440 x 1220mm, the standard 8ft x 4ft sheet, in thicknesses from about 5mm through 20mm. Density is normally between 0.45 and 0.60 g per cubic centimetre: the lighter end is easier to handle and cheaper for indoor work, while the denser end holds screws better and stays flatter on large outdoor faces.
Common uses are printed signage and hoardings, digital print mounting, exhibition and retail displays, interior partitions, modular furniture carcasses and decorative wall cladding.
